Salt & Straw

I am back today to bring you another Food Series post! Today we are visiting another spot in San Francisco, a delicious ice cream shop called Salt & Straw. A few weeks ago during our last visit to San Francisco Rudy and I wanted to visit this scoop shop but we were maxed out on sugar for the day. A couple of weeks later we went back to the city to spend the day to celebrate our wedding anniversary and visiting this shop was a must!

Like most food places, I found Salt & Straw on Instagram about a year ago exactly now. Even a couple of my friends ended up visiting this scoop shops and highly recommended it to me! This place has such unique flavored ice cream and they can also be found in quite a few different cities such as Portland, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, and of course San Francisco. They even have more locations opening up soon.

As soon as we walked in Rudy and I were skimming through their super cute chalkboard menu and as soon as I saw Honey Lavender on the menu I knew exactly what I was ordering! Rudy's ice cream of choice was one of their limited edition flavors, the Peach & Vanilla Bean Crumble which is a part of their Late Summer Harvest flavors. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning once I was handed my sugar cone. My Lavender Honey ice cream was out of this world amazing. I was so obsessed with how good it was and Rudy even kept asking me for some more licks ha ha. Rudy's ice cream was also very satisfying and super different from anything I've tried before. It had a mix of sweet from the vanilla and slightly sour from the peaches. Very delicious paired with crumble.

Salt & Straw even offers some of their ice cream in a take home pint. I have to admit I was very excited when I saw this. Next time Rudy and I visit I plan on taking home a pint, or two, with me.
