Welcome to my Food Series post! I know it has been a very long time since I've shared a food series post that you may have even forgotten all about this series of mine. When I first began this series I had so much planned and it turns out I wasn't entirely committed to it at the time. At this point, I feel that I'm ready and fully intend to post more on this series. I will be sharing a lot of new to us food places that Rudy and I visit during our ventures. I will include food we each pick out along with our final thoughts! In this comeback post, I'm so excited to share our visit to Mr. Holmes Bake Shop located in San Francisco!
A couple of Sunday's ago Rudy and I went to spend the morning and most of the day in SF. We had so many different places we wanted to visit one being this cute Instagramable bake shop. I have seen this shop throughout Instagram quite a few times. A couple of my friends have also visited and all the pastries looked delicious! Before Rudy and I moved to Washington, and back again to California, I now realized how I never took advantage of all the delicious food spots we have in the Bay Area. Now with being back, I'm never taking that for granted again. I have a list of places we want to visit and eat at and I was determined to visit this place and check it off my list.
This is a very popular shop. The doors open at 7am Monday- Saturday and 8am on Sundays. However, I would suggest you get there early since they usually have a line going out the door. Mr. Holmes is very well known for their donuts, pastries, and of course the infamous cruffins. What's a cruffin you may ask? No worries I asked the same question while we waited in line. Basically, if a muffin and a croissant had a baby you'd get a cruffin, cute right? During this visit, we didn't get a chance to purchase any cruffins since we were at the doors by 8 and they only began serving them at 9 unfortunately. We're planning another visit for this weekend so hopefully, we'll be able to finally give those a try!
I can't express it enough how aesthetically pleasing this shop was. Everything about it was screaming my name. From the wall to wall subway tiling, pipe shelves, pop of greenery, and of course the neon sign! Saying that I was obsessed with it is an understatement.
As soon as you walk into your right side you have an entire counter filled with multiple pastry options. Rudy and I picked up a total for six during our visit. We each picked out a croissant, mine was called 'Rest In Peach' which contains peach jam, mascarpone whipped ganache, vanilla pastry cream, oat crumble with a peach parchment on top. It looked so pretty, you can see it on the picture down below, it's the second to last pastry all the way on the right side. The one Rudy chose was the 'Just Try It' and that one consisted of pastrami, pickled onions, manchego cheese, pickled oranges, pumpkin, and fennel cheese. Both super good, I prefer the Rest In Peach since I'm not the biggest fan of pastrami like Rudy is.
I really hope you enjoyed this kind of post since I definitely plan on sharing a lot more foods on my blog. Have you visited Mr. Holmes Bake Shop before? What are some food spots you think I should visit in San Francisco?
LOVE LOVE LOVE! I'm so glad you got to go. You really need to go back and try a Cruffin, they're delicious. That Rest In Peach looks and sounds so good! When you go next time if they have anything Taro, you should try it. I tried one of their Taro pastries and it was delicious!

Thanks Imelda! The two times I've gone I haven't seen anything taro but I'll keep an eye out if we possibly go again Friday. We got to try their creme brulee cheesecake danish this last weekend and it was so good!
