Farewell, Summer

As Autumn is approaching it only means Summer is coming to an end. This is the first year in a really long time that I'm a little bummed about summer ending. Even though autumn is my favorite season, I have had so much fun this summer and did so much. With this being the last weeks of summer I wanted to share some of my highlights of the season.

Rudy and I love going to the theater and we were able to watch quite a few movies this Summer. Just to name a few, we watched Jurassic World, The Incredibles 2, Ant-Man and The Wasp, and Christopher Robbin. All of these films were really good, Christopher Robbin probably being my favorite. I grew up with Winnie The Pooh and the movie was very nostalgic for me. Such a cute heart-felt story.

This was the first Summer in a really long time that I managed to do a lot of swimming! It was so great having access to a pool in our apartment. Because of this, I think I was able to really enjoy Summer this year and I totally took full advantage of it.

We made a couple of trips back home to California for visits before making our move back! I still can't believe that we're back and living in San Jose again. I know we're both so happy and excited about this move.

We finally got to visit the Museum Of Ice Cream something I had been wanting to do for well over a year when it was in LA. This pop-up was so cute and so much fun, I have been recommending it to everyone I know. Even though I can't really compare this pop-up to any others since this was the first one I have visited. I don't know how future ones we plan to visit will compare to it since I really loved this one. I loved it so much that I'm planning on visiting it a second time before it leaves San Francisco.

During one of our visits to California, we managed to do a lot of new things neither Rudy or I had done before. One of those things was berry picking. We both had such a fun experience while doing this that we plan on doing stuff like this more often.

Another place I was able to visit for the first time was a haunted mansion! The Winchester Mystery House is only fifteen minutes away from my house and I've never been to it until this Summer. Rudy and I had always talked about going but never did. It was really cool to finally visit this haunted house and I really want to go back and do their flashlight tour probably in October.

With so many trips back home and of course moving back home I have been taking full advantage and have been spending a lot of time with family. I grew up being very close to my family so when Rudy and I moved to Washington for the past year it was really difficult being so far away from them. I hated missing out on family gatherings, BBQ's and birthday parties.

Last month Rudy and I got a new baby nephew! It was so nice getting to finally meet little baby Zambrano, I just love babies. He was so cute, tiny but long, with a head full of hair! He wouldn't stop smiling at me and Rudy, he's definitely going to be quite the flirt one day. I was completely smitten by him and can't wait to watch him grow up.

Now that we're back living in the Bay Area I have somewhat of a bucket list of food places I want to check out. So far in just our first weekend back we've managed to visit three new places, and each and every single one of them was very good! I have a post on one of the places coming later this week!

For some time now I have been constantly telling Rudy how I want to go to a circus, and on our drive back home from Hollister we saw that a circus was in town! As soon as I got home I looked them up to see how long they were in town for and where was their next stop. Sadly it was their last day in town, however, they were going to be in a town that was less than an hour away so of course, I purchased tickets! It was so amazing, I have only been to a circus once in my life and this was back when I was a kid. You better believe that I will be dedicating a post to the show in the future!

What were some of your highlights this Summer? I'd really love to know. Also, are you bummed Summer is almost over, or are you excited for the Fall season?

    1. Awe, it was definitely such a fun experience! You should try doing some other kind of fruit picking like apples for the Fall season. I heard plums are also in season at the moment. Thank you so much for stopping by Emily.

  3. I'm not too upset about summer ending to be honest. It was nice while it lasted but the heatwave in the UK was a bit too much for me, haha xx

    1. I feel you on that one. I did enjoy summer a lot this year but I'm always looking forward to Fall with it being my favorite season. I also don't enjoy being overly hot at all times.
