September Favorites

These are the things I've been swooning over the month of September.

Since moving I have been watching and rewatching a ton of shows online and on Netflix. Once we arrived in Washington the first couple of days Rudy would put on the show Parks & Recreation. He loves the show and would always tell me that I had to watch it. Me being me, I brushed the thought aside. One evening while it was on I caught myself constantly being distracted by it and laughing. I put away my laptop so that the show would have my full attention. I know this show is pretty old but I'm so obsessed with it now. It has become a routine of ours to watch a few episodes every night before bed and I look forward to that moment every day. I really like the entire cast they are all so funny. I feel like Ron is my spirit animal, but Tom is high on my list because he's so damn hilarious. Currently, I'm am on season seven which I believe is the final season. Once we're finished watching the series I'm pretty sure I'm going to rewatch it again since I fell asleep during a few episodes and Rudy didn't pause it for me haha.

This past year my love for skin care has grown tremendously. I'm always interested in trying out new stuff especially if its products that are more targeted towards breakouts. You already know how much I love my UFO oil from Sunday Riley, that is a staple of my nighttime routine. However, since it's more of a thicker oil I wanted a separate oil specifically for the daytime. The Glossier Super Pure Serum was something I wanted to try for a while. I watched a few reviews on it and found out that it is a light-weight serum that dries up almost immediately once you apply it to your skin. It doesn't leave a sticky residue nor does it feel oily so it's perfect for daytime use which is a huge reason to why I love it so much. I use it every morning apart of my morning time routine, my makeup applies nicely overtop of it, and it doesn't interrupt the wear of it. Super pure has helped with my breakouts especially soothing those stubborn painful ones because of the zinc and niacinamide in it. It has also helped reduce some redness in my skin so much, I swear I have yet to be disappointed by a Glossier product. Eventually, I also would like to try their other serums.

About a month and a half ago I purchased the Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask by Glow Recipe. I had never heard of this brand until Imelda mentioned it to me that she had been wanting to try this mask. One day, while I was on IG Glow Recipe, had a really good sale on their Glow Box Bag which included a travel-sized watermelon mask and their blueberry bounce cleanser. The watermelon glow mask can be used as a 10 min wash off mask which will give you hydration and dewiness with a thick layer of the mask. You can also use a thin layer as an overnight mask for a more radiant glowy skin. If you use this overnight, don't worry about it getting all over your sheets because this mask is pillow proof and dries down completely. I didn't really get a chance to use this until this month. I've been applying a thin layer to my face after I'm done with my Aztec mask. Every once in a while I will use it as an overnight mask. I'm surprised at how much I really like this mask. When I first felt the consistency of it I didn't think it would become a favorite of mine. I was definitely wrong. I thought that since this mask feels extremely light-weight it wouldn't really do anything to my skin. It seriously does! I love applying hydrating products to my face after using any acne targeted mask since those can tend to dry out my skin and this helps so much. I also really enjoy the glow I get from using this. I know this has been a hot seller at Sephora so if you do come across this make sure you smell it because it smells phenomenal! I will definitely be purchasing the full-size tub of this once I run out.

Too Faced released a brand new collection called Peaches & Cream and clearly, I had to pick up a few items to try out. One of the items I picked up was the Primed & Peachy cooling matte primer. Surprisingly I don't have a holy grail primer and I've been using travel sized ones that I received in past subscription boxes. I was close to running out of my current primers and it was perfect timing to try out something new. I have been enjoying the primed and peachy primer. It is somewhat similar to the Benefit Porefessional in the sense that it kind of has that silicone feel to it. However, this one is so much better. The texture is a lot smoother and softer it also doesn't dry out my skin. Just like its name states it is a cooling primer. As soon as you apply it to your face it gives a refreshing cooling feeling while leaving a soft matte look. I may be getting a little head of myself but I'm really really loving this primer. It leaves a smooth base for my foundation and/or concealer. My makeup has yet to crease while I'm using this and I'm confident that it has helped with some oil control. I have also noticed my makeup holding up all day. I look forward to continuing using this and it smells so good. Yup, it smells of delicious sweet peaches, and I think it smells even better than the Sweet Peach pallet. I want to do a whole review on it along with the other items I picked up from this collection really soon.

I have been using my Plum Rain shower gel from Lush religiously. Rudy and I both love it so much and we are getting close to finishing the bottle. A couple of weeks ago Rudy asked for us to start using a new shower gel and specifically asked for Snow Fairy shower gel. I was ecstatic when he requested for that specific shower gel since I had been planning on using once our current shower gel would run out. I love the scent of Snow Fairy and I have been obsessed with using it the last few weeks. I know not many people will enjoy the scent of this shower gel since it is a very sweet candy scent. I still love it because I don't find it to be extremely sweet. After using this the bathroom smells of sweet delicious candy and boy does the scent linger on your body. I recently washed my niece with this and she smelled so yummy for hours. I absolutely love Lush shower gels it is hands down one of my favorites. I also can't wait for them to bring this scent back because I want to stock up on it along with the body conditioner.

What were you loving this month?

  3. I LOVE Parks & Rec. OMG, basically my favorite show ever. I've seen every episode like 5 times. I just put it on in the background while I'm working or cleaning because it just relaxes me. Plus I love that it's set in Indiana - not too far from Ohio!
