Current Favorites

It isn't very often that I dedicate a post to sharing some of my favorite products anymore. Monthly favorites became a post that I completely ditched a couple of years ago but would love to bring it back every so often. I don't tend to try too many new products anymore, as I mentioned in a past post I've become quite the hermit when it comes to well a lot of my products. I think that every few months it would be nice if I were to share some products that might be new to me and that I'm currently loving. This way I won't feel so pressured on having to share products I'm enjoying monthly because it all honestly that rarely happens anymore since I love the majority of the things I use. Now I am here today to share with you the few products that I'm currently loving.

On days that the weather is brutally hot, I've been enjoying a more hydrating sheer lipstick. I have been reaching for my Yves Saint Laurent Heart & Arrow Collector Rouge Volupté Shine lipstick in number 12, a bright cajun coral. This is my only "high-end" lipstick that Rudy gifted to me for Valentine's Day. I'm really surprised that I have been gravitating to this kind of lipstick since I normally use a normal-matte lipstick formula. This formula reminds me a lot of a tinted chapstick and that is probably why I like it so much. I have found that once the glossy part of it fades away a light tint remains on my lips and I'm so obsessed with how that looks. It has really been the perfect lipstick on hot days where my lips are just asking for more hydration. The shade is also all me, a beautiful. bright red-orange tint.

About a month ago now, maybe a little bit over, I started using the Drunk Elephant A-Passion Retinol cream. I purchased a kit from Drunk Elephant a couple months ago and this was included. I had been wanting to incorporate a retinol cream into my skincare routine but I just couldn't ring myself to purchasing this due to its price point. I'm a huge fan of the brand as you know, and once they announced their newest kit and I noticed this was one of the products included I knew it was the perfect time to try it out and see if it would be something I'd love and would need to eventually repurchase. I'll just flat out say it, I love it. I had been having a few hormonal breakouts around my chin recently and since using this it's completely cured the issue. I use it every other day and it's been a miracle worker. I can tell you right now I'm definitely going to repurchase it once I run out.

In the past, I have talked briefly about deodorants. I have switched over to using only aluminum free deodorant since 2017. Since then I have switched from a couple of deodorants for one reason or another. I'm currently using the Kopari coconut oil deodorant for almost two months and I'm in love with it. I'm absolutely obsessed with its scent, it's absolutely fresh and clean. I don't think it really smells like coconut. Past deodorants were starting to irritate my underarms and I knew I had to switch to something new immediately and find something that is more hydrating. This guy does exactly that because of its coconut oil. It helps nourish, hydrate and even protects sensitive skin. I very briefly spoke about it on my bathroom shelfie post, and there I even mentioned that I already have a back up of this stored away.

Let's talk about hair. Would you believe me if I said I have found a new dry shampoo that has replaced my beloved No Drought dry shampoo from Lush? Well, I have! I had been wanting to try out a new dry shampoo and I had my eye on the Kristin Ess Style Reviving Dry Shampoo. To be honest, I've been wanting to try Kristin Ess products and since I had finished my No Drought it was perfect timing to pick up her dry shampoo. I've heard nothing but absolutely amazing things about Kristin Ess and her hair products and I just knew it was time to give them a try. The style reviving dry shampoo is everything I want in a dry shampoo. It absorbs all trace of oils, it leaves my hair looking and feeling clean which is something hardly any dry shampoo's offer. My hair smells fresh and clean and this dry shampoo is also vitamin enriched. One last thing that pretty much was the icing on the cake for me is that this lovely lady is an aerosol spray! Oh goodness, how I forgot how easy it is to use a dry shampoo in a spray form and it's so much easier to spray, tap, and go.

You might begin to see a bit of a Kristin Ess obsession since my next favorite is the Kristin Ess Iconic Style Professional Blow Dryer. If you read my latest beauty + hair wishlist then you would have recognized this from that post. I picked it up a few weeks ago and it has seriously been such a great investment. As I mentioned in that post, the last blow dryer I had was incredibly old and would take quite some time to get my hair fully dried. I am so amazed at how quickly this one gets the job done. I'm done blow drying my hair in five minutes! I can't even believe that which might sound silly to some, but this is a huge upgrade especially with summer making its debut. Not only does this dry my hair insanely fast but my hair feels so soft, smooth and it doesn't dry it out plus I have been loving the ionic option. It still isn't the cheapest hair dryer but it definitely beats the price of the Dyson hair dryer that I was looking into.

Lastly, I wasn't sure if I was going to include this fragrance or not. I purchased this Jo Malone London Silk Blossom Cologne back in April while I was in New York. I was wearing it once in a while but since the weather has warmed up it has been one of the top three colognes I have been wearing nonstop. Silk Blossom is a limited edition fragrance so I wouldn't sleep on this. It is in the floral fragrance family and contains the notes of white pepper, silk blossom, and moss. Now doesn't that all sound so lovely, definitely the kind of notes I'm a fan of. If you're into similar fragrances as I am I'm certain you will fall in love with this one. It has a very fresh powdery floral scent without it being too overly powder, it's perfectly balanced. If you're a fan of the Peony Blush & Suede you'll definitely want to get your hands on this fragrance. The pink packaging is so lovely, and now every time I wear it I can't help but think back to my trip to New York since I wore it out my last couple of days there.

Have you tried any of the products in today's post? What about anything from any of the brands I spoke about, and if so what do you love from them?
