LADURÉE

Bonjour mes amours, and welcome back to another of my Food Series post! For today's post, we are finally jumping into food places I visited during my trip to New York City. Today we are starting off with Ladurée, a luxury French bakery. Ladurée Bakery first began in 1862 in Paris by Louis Ernest Ladurée. In 1871 he then transformed his bakery into a pastry shop that now has eight locations across the United States, the first being the New York Madison location. I'm a sucker for pastries especially a good macaron which was the reason as to why I always dreamed of visit this shop. Join me as I bring you along with me to visit this chic and timeless pastry shop.

Immediately as you approach the shop you will see the most colorful and beautiful storefront, inside things are even more magical. They had the largest variety of pastries to choose from. So many different flavored Macarons, chocolate eclairs, truffles, chocolates, and croissants! You have so many choices to choose from they even offer a small lunch menu along with drinks, coffee, and tea.
Ladurée became very famous and well known for its double-decker macaron. They also create stunning macaron tiers that look too good to even eat. Can we take a moment to also lust over those very creative and detailed boxes!
We knew we'd be ordering a box of macarons to try some of Laudrées infamous flavors, but we also wanted to get something for breakfast. Rudy and I both are obsessed with croissants and here they had a few different flavors; plain, almond, chocolate, and a rose croissant. Immediately once the woman said rose flavor I was sold and we ordered two of them. This croissant wasn't only the most beautiful croissant I have ever seen but one of the tastiest! I can't help but get hungry at the thought of it right now. It was perfection, the taste wasn't too sweet, chewy and flakey ah! So delicious, I highly recommend.
I went ahead and ordered a dozen of the macarons, two of each flavor so that Rudy and I could each have our own. I don't like to share my macarons haha. I ordered; rose petal, salted caramel, coffee, pistachio, orange blossom, one framboise and I think the last one was called raspberry rice pudding. It was a limited edition flavor. All of the macarons were mouthwatering but can you guess which one was my favorite?
Two happy birdies enjoying their French macarons. After we ordered our pastries we sat down in this cute little corner to eat. We basically had the entire place to ourselves which was pretty nice. The environment was very relaxing and calm.
Now if you're still wondering as to which macaron was my favorite, it was the salted caramel! It was the best macaron I have ever had, which I have tried a good amount. It reminded me so much of an at-home macaron shop that made the most exquisite salted caramel macaron. The salty and sweet combo is well balanced out, this is even one of their best sellers!
What did you think of Ladurée? Is this pastry shop a place you'd like to visit? Thank you so much for joining me today, until next time!

  1. Ladurée is so luxurious it's almost decadent :D I remember first time I went to paris (I was maybe 15) I begged my dad to buy me a little box of macaroons, and then felt so bad about eating them because they were so beautiful!! I never had the salted caramel one, though, and now I am slightly jealous.
