Our Wedding Photos!

Rudy and I have been married now for one year and four months. We eloped while we were living in Washington, just the two of us, and it's a decision I never regretted once. Since our elopement, we always said we wanted to take wedding photos. In a past blog post, I briefly mentioned that I would love if Rudy and I were able to celebrate our one year by taking wedding photos. There were a lot of discussions from where and when we were going to take these photos. Tons of back and forth with styles, and looking at wedding dresses for me. Then searching for an outfit for Rudy that would match the style we had wanted and that would compliment the colors of the bouquet I had in mind. Eventually, it all fell into place. I couldn't be happier because back in September, for mine and Rudy's one year wedding anniversary, we celebrated by finally having our wedding photos taken.

Since getting engaged the style I wanted for our "wedding" changed, a lot. Originally I envision a Spring or Summer wedding, I would be wearing some kind of laced strapless dress, and there would be lots of pink peonies everywhere. After a couple of years of being engaged and searching the internet for inspiration, I fell in love more and more with the thought of getting married during my favorite season, Fall. Before I knew it the discussion about elopement surfaced and the idea of having a fall wedding (elopement) sounded perfect. I knew that I wanted an outdoor woodsy forest location for our photos. Having tall redwood trees and Mother Nature surrounding us would be such a stunning backdrop and very Autumnal. I did a lot of researching for the perfect location and had many recommendations from friends. Finally, I decided that we'd head out to the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park and have our photos taken there.

This location was beautiful I mean look at this! It was absolutely breathtaking, serene, and magical to say the least. It had the perfect Autumn feel to it which was exactly what I was looking for with us having gotten married during the fall season. This park was filled with so many beautiful places for photos. It's really hard to choose my favorite photos but one of my favorite spots was the photos where Rudy and I are sitting on top of a fallen tree. Those are so magical. It was so peaceful we saw families gathering together cooking on the grill, music playing in all sorts of direction, and lots of hikers with their pups. We got a ton of people congratulating us which was so sweet. While walking from one area to another we even passed by a dreamy waterfall!

We were both so fortunate to have had our photos taken by my best friend Imelda. I have known Imelda for quite a few years now and it was perfect to have her be the one to capture these photos of us. I'm normally a very shy person, so I was a bit worried about how I was going to feel with having her let alone anyone take such intimate-ish lovey-dovey photos of Rudy and myself. Luckily, from the moment she began snapping photos it felt so natural. She did such a great job with these photos and captured everything that I was looking for from our poses and lots of candid pictures! I'm forever grateful and thankful for her doing this favor for both of us. I definitely look forward to having her photograph lots more photos of us in the future!
I always knew that eventually, I would be sharing these photos on my blog. At one point I was even debating about keeping them solely for myself. Only sharing with limited friends and family. My blog is one of my favorite platforms to share things and how could I not share these beautiful photos with you guys. This is definitely a post that I want to have on my blog so that I can look back at in the future. I sure hope you enjoyed looking through mine and Rudy's wedding photo-shoot!
