Current Favorites

I haven't shared a monthly favorites post since last year. I thought I'd go ahead and share some of my current favorites. This will give me a chance to share things that I've accumulated over the last few months before deciding if I want to get back to sharing monthly favorites.

If you didn't already know, I love Lush Cosmetics and their shower creams/gels are one of my all-time favorite products. They are the only soaps I use on my body and I have a few backups stashed away. I love getting my hands on their limited edition scents and earlier this year I opened up the Yummy Mummy shower cream. This shower cream smells amazing and the scent actually reminds me a lot of their D'Fluff shaving soap because of the strawberry scent. Geranium oil, Brazillian orange oil, and tonka absolute will leave your skin silky soft. This is one of the reasons why I really like their shower creams because of how soft and hydrating they leave your skin. I picked up this bottle last May and Rudy and I are almost completely out of it. I'm sure going to miss it since Lush didn't bring it back for their Mother's Day collection.

How many of you have been hearing everyone talk about The Greatest Showman? And that's exactly how it should be, everyone should be watching this movie because it's one of the best movies I have seen in a really long time. Clearly, I adore the film but the soundtrack has been a favorite of mine since the film came out. I own the soundtrack and listen to it every time Rudy and I are out. I also play it all day long on Spotify and I'm still not sick of it. I'm amazed and in awe at how great of a singer Hugh Jackman is. If you haven't seen the movie or listened to their soundtrack do yourself a favor and get on it! Trust me you won't regret it. I recently saw the album on vinyl and I'm itching to pick it up and add it to my record collection.

I feel like I'm finally at a point where I can say I'm a Jo Malone London fragrance collector. My collection has definitely grown a lot the last few months and one of the newest scents I'm head over heels for is Pomegranate Noir. This cologne is like none other that I own, it's so unique. This fragrance is described as a fruity scent but I feel it pulls more of a woodsy fruity scent. I've never been a fan of woodsy colognes but this one is divine. It contains notes of rich pomegranate, raspberry, and plum juice spiked with pink pepper, Casablanca lily, and spicy woods. It's absolutely delicious! This was my go-to perfume for the last three months straight especially with the gloomy cold days we had here in Washington. Pomegranate Noir is the perfect winter fragrance!

In February I was in Anthropologie and came across this cute little question book for couples called All About Us. I was so excited to pick it up and answer all the questions with Rudy. I have to admit that we're not even halfway done with it. When we first began answering questions I quickly realized how difficult it was for us to do. The questions go back to when you two first met, to answering questions about the present and eventually leading to the future. There is a lot of personal questions in there too but I think this is going to be such a cute way to one day look back on. A cute little memory keepsake. It's probably been about a month since we've even touched the book I'm still planning to complete it soon. I just haven't really had time with our move and then going to California for a couple of weeks so expect to hear more about this soon!

A couple of shows I've been loving is Gilmore Girls and Fixer Upper. I used to watch Gilmore Girls here and there when I was younger but it was never a show I watched religiously week after week. For some reason around December, I had to urge to watch the complete series so that I could watch the mini-series 10 years later Netflix released the show. This became mine and Rudy's go-to night time show. We would watch about two to three episodes before bed and it was so much fun. We finished the whole series a few weeks ago and I miss it so much. I wasn't very happy with how Netflix ended the mini-series and I really hope they plan and releasing another season but we'll see.

I randomly began watching Fixer Upper one day and I've been hooked. I really like Joanna and Chip Gaines they are so much fun to watch. I think I really got into this show while we were looking into purchasing a home because this show gives you so many cool ideas. I love seeing how Chip and Joanna turn a hideous home into a masterpiece. I also adore Joanna's interiors style and would love for her to design and furnish my house! She's definitely one of my interior inspo!

For Christmas Rudy got me the classic Checkerboard Slip-On Vans shoes. I would always mention to him to how these shoes were my very first pair of Vans and my all time favorite. I wore the crap out of them and I've been wanting to buy myself a new pair forever now. Luckily my husband is amazing and surprised me with them (definitely brought back high school feelings). It had been raining often in Washington and if it wasn't raining it was very wet outside so I couldn't wear them as much as I wanted to. Luckily the rain has subsided a lot the last month in a half and I've been wearing these as much as I possibly can. I brought them with me both trips back to California and wore them basically every day, I love them so much! I can't wait for nice days so that I can continue using them since they go so well with just about any outfit.

Can Seattle be a favorite? Cause it's definitely one of mine. As I previously mentioned in my latest post Rudy and I have been spending a lot of time in Seattle. We live only twenty mins away and we're both always on our phones either looking on Instagram or Yelp for different places to check out. I feel that for living here for only seven months now we've been to and discovered so many places. I'm very pleased about this. I still have a few things on a list of mine of places I'd love to eventually go to. Make sure to keep an eye out for posts I'll be sharing of places we've been to and along with any future places we plan on visiting as I'll make sure to share them here with all of you.

The last item I'm going to share is a hair treatment by Lush Cosmetics called Roots. I was introduced to this guy by one of the employees. She was the absolute sweetest. I had no plans on buying anything but she was so good at what she was doing and had me sold. Roots is a hair treatment that contains peppermint and spearmint oils. The cooling mint infusion will revitalize the scalp. Extra virgin oil and honey soften and conditions the hair gives it a shine, and don't worry it won't weigh your hair done. Apply this treatment to dry hair beginning at the roots all the way to the ends of your hair. You can leave it for as long as you want, twenty minutes, an hour, I even leave it on overnight. Then all you have to do is shampoo it out and it leaves my hair soft with volume in my roots. This is a conditioner replacement when I use it I skip conditioner.

What are some of the things you have been loving recently?

    1. I'm always wanting to get my hands on a new Jo Malone fragrance, they have definitely replaced all of my other favroite perfumes. Roots from Lush is so good! I have been using it once a week and I haven't even hit the halway mark. I like this one cause it's in the tub cause most of their others are in that stick form and I can't be bothered with that. You have to try it!
